Install Windows Media Player Plugin for Google Chrome 

When the browser detects that a plug-in required for a specific site is missing, then you authorize the use of such tools , a message prompting you to install this plug-in is displayed at the top of the page Web . If the page you are viewing contains only links to Windows Media files ( such as files . Asf or . Asx ) , the prompt to download the plug-in Windows Media Player can not display . In this case , follow these steps to get the plug-in:
  1. See http://www.interoperabilitybridges.com/wmp-extension-for-chrome.
  2. Follow the screen instructions to download the plug-in.

  4. Open the installation file.
  5. Click "Run" to start the installation wizard . Follow the instructions in the wizard to complete the installation of the plug-in.
  6. Restart Google Chrome.

Install Windows Media Player Plugin for Firefox 

To read the "Windows Media" formats in Firefox, Firefox needs the browser plugin "Windows Media Player" installed.
Important: The "Windows Media Player" plugin is now disabled by default and no longer appears in the Add-ons Manager. Please follow the instructions below:

Change a setting in Firefox to activate new plugins

  1. In the address bar, type about: config and press Enter..
    • The "Caution warning page, danger!" Should appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise! to access the "about: config" page.

  1. Search plugins.load_appdir_plugins.
  2. Double-click plugins.load_appdir_plugins to change its value to true.

  1. At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button then sélectionnezQuitter. When you restart Firefox, these plugins will be activated again.

If the problem is still not resolved, check if the plugin is installed on Firefox

To see if you already have the plugin installed:

  1. At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button, then additional sélectionnezModules. Tab of the Add-ons Manager opens.
  2. Tab in the Add-ons Manager, select the Plugins panel.
  3. Scroll down the list and look for the item called :
    Microsoft® Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin
    np-mswmp.dll

  • If the element is present, then the plugin is installed.
  • If the element is not there, read the next paragraph.

Installer le plugin sur Firefox

  1. Go to the download page for the plugin on Interoperability Bridges.

  2. Click on "Download Now" You will be prompted to save your file.
  3. Save this file on your desktop.
  4. Once it is downloaded, open it and install the plugin.
  5. When the installation is complete, close and restart Firefox :
    1. At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button, then select Exit.
    2. When Firefox is completely closed, restart Firefox.

Enable or disable the plugin on Firefox

You can enable or disable the "Windows Media Player" in the plugin manager of Firefox add-ons.

  1. At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button, then additional sélectionnezModules. Tab of the Add-ons Manager opens.
  2. Tab in the Add-ons Manager, select the Plugins panel.
  3. In the list of plugins, select the plugin "Windows Media Player".
    • If you want to disable the plugin, click the Disable button.
    • If you want to reactivate the plugin, click the Activate button.

If the plugin is disabled, pages with "Windows Media" embedded content, such as link test page " Windows Media" above, will not work and if you download a "Windows Media" file, Firefox may ask what to do with, instead of automatically open in Firefox.
